The corporate career, and a different question
As a senior professional at QBE, Iti had built a career that commanded respect. But alongside her husband, she began asking the question that changes everything: “What does financial independence actually look like for us?”

The first property, and what it cost her
In 2010 Iti bought her first investment property on her own, 36 Glenvale Avenue Parklea, NSW. She made the decision based on the selling agent’s numbers and a negative gearing pitch. No strategy. No long-term picture. No one asking about her goals or risk profile. In 2014 a redundancy scare, high strata sinking fund and poor cashflow forced a panic sale at $430K. She had made a profit on paper. But she had also learned the cost of doing it alone.

Finding a team, not just a service
In 2016 Iti approached JR Prosperity Partners. They assessed her borrowing capacity, aligned the strategy to a long-term income-replacement goal and made two greenfield corridor purchases. She never shopped around for someone else. She had found a partner she could trust.

Nine years as a client investor
From 2016 Iti expanded her portfolio yearly, guided by JRP at every step, while still working full-time at QBE. Real money, real decisions, real doubt along the way. Each purchase aligned to the same goal: genuine financial independence through property income.

The redundancy that revealed everything
In 2023 Iti was made redundant. With guidance and honest reflection, she asked herself the question she’d been circling for years: what do I actually want to do with this? The answer had been in front of her for nine years.

Joining the team, purpose over salary
She joined the JRP team. Not as a client this time, but as the person who shows others the path she already walked. Strategic Portfolio Partners is what she was working toward all along.
